Well, this was a meet full of useful hands-on stuff.
There was choosing a header image and linking a domain name to a wordpress.com blog (you now need to buy a plan for this, by the way. See https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/).
A lot of the evening was taken up by the matter of hacked websites, how to recover from having a hacked site and how to best protect your site, also how do we find the theme best suited for our new site.
We also got into the UK WordPress Community Slack team and tested chatting via the #wpglasgow channel which we are thinking using for the Q&A at our next remote talk event.
Discussions around the table were varied as usual and we are looking forward to the next meet!
Thursday 9th March, 18:30, at CitizenM’s Glasgow.
We’ll be sitting round the big table on the ground floor, right-hand side of the building as you come in.
Bring your laptop or tablet or simply yourself. There’s no need to be an expert… although you’ll also be welcomed if you are 🙂
You can also bring a project you are working on or your questions and conundrums. We’ll bounce questions and answers around and get the conversation going or perhaps we’ll share with the team something new we’ve learned since the last meet.
This is the co-working section of the WordPress Glasgow meet, there’s no program and everything happens as it goes.
